Plywood Reels

TUBE TYPE

The construction of this type of reel is made in 6mm thick plywood for the smaller sizes of standard reel from 300mm to approx 450mm diameter flange and 8mm thick plywood from 450mm to 600mm diameter flange. Larger flanges from 600mm to 1000mm diameter are made in 12mm, 15mm, 18mm or 25mm thick. These reels contain 19mm diameter steel tubes for its construction and each reel will contain 3,4,6, or 8 steel tubes to suit standard barrel diameters. Standard barrel diameters are 100mm, 150mm, 200mm, 225mm, 250mm, 300mm, 350mm, 400mm and 450mm with standard reel.

traverse from 100mm up to 500mm. Barrel types for diameters from 100mm to 250mm can be supplied in solid cardboard tubes or diameters from 200mm to 450mm are made in 3mm thick plywood. Also available for the larger plywood reel is a 1mm thick steel barrel which is normally used for internal drum winding. Printing or stencilling is available for all plywood reels or drums.

METAL STAMPING REELS ( MSR )

This type of lightweight plywood reel can be supplied assembled or in kit form and consists of 2 plywood flanges, 2,3 or 4 metal stampings (depending on barrel diameter) and either 1 solid cardboard tube or paper strip. All metal stampings are manufactured here at PKR. Flange diameters from 190mm to 450mm as standard in thicknesses of 6mm plywood. Standard barrel diameters are 100mm, 125mm, 150mm and 200mm and have a length of stamping from 90mm to 457mm. Printing is available for this product.

HEAVY DUTY

These drums are constructed in standard 18mm thick plywood and flange sizes range from 750mm to 1500mm. The barrel can be made with steel, plywood or timber wooden lags and supported with steel threaded tie bars as supports. Please contact us with your specific requirements for this type of drum.
